I loved this family session in Meridianville, AL, for the Jeffries family! I’ve been photographing Teddy and William since they were tiny, including a First Year Collective for each of them. It’s been fun documenting their story and watching them grow over the last few years. They were so sweet to each other the entire session. It always amazes me just how quickly this transformation from baby to big boy happens, and that’s why I’m so passionate about documenting each new milestone along the way!
The Jeffries
I loved the color choices for the Jeffries family session! Mom and Dad did a beautiful job coordinating their outfits. Teddy and William did such a great job with their solo portraits and then were so sweet together. The portrait of them snuggling is one of my favorites from the day. We also snuck in couple portraits of just Mom and Dad, which is something I try to do during family sessions. Even if you don’t think it’s necessary or a priority during a family session, I promise having photos of just the two of you is just as important!
Being a Boy Mom
Being a boy mom means something different for everyone, but once you’re in the “club,” you get it. As a mom, bringing every sweet baby home is full of immeasurable joy. Almost every mom will tell you it doesn’t matter, as long as they’re healthy, and that’s true! The bond between mother and son is just a little extra tender.
With every “Mommy, watch this!” our hearts grow a little bigger. We know they won’t always be this tiny and won’t always request our attention for every spin jump. They won’t always need us to comfort them and won’t always turn their precious gaze to us for affirmation. Their ventures will soon become more ambitious, and we will cheer them on, remembering how their tiny world was once only us.
It’s what makes this job of mine such a treasure. When your little ones become big kids, you’ll always have the sweet memories and these portraits of their tiny faces to look back on.
