One of my absolute favorite parts of the client experience in my Huntsville photography studio is the studio wardrobe! It’s one of the number one reasons mommas come to me for their sessions. We have over 150 dresses!
But, the studio wardrobe isn’t just for Mom! I have a wide range of options for Dad, children, and baby. The best part? We’re constantly adding new pieces for everyone!
If you’re curious, here are a few of my favorite FAQs about the studio wardrobe.
How Do You Choose Your Dresses?
If you’ve planned a session on your own in the past, I’m sure you know how overwhelming it can be to narrow down outfits. There are endless options that leave most of us fed up and on to the next task, including returns for all the things that didn’t fit. This can ultimately lead to the dreaded last-minute effort to find something the week of your session. Not to worry Momma, I’ve got you covered, and I’ve already done the heavy lifting for you.
Each garment in the studio wardrobe has a few key elements I look for. For color, I usually always opt for light and airy. Staying with this palette always ensures the whole family’s wardrobe will flow together beautifully.
Movement and texture are also something I pay close attention to as well. Since we aren’t getting too wild with our color choices, adding subtle textures is a beautiful way to add visual interest and depth to the overall wardrobe.
Lastly, every Momma wants to feel beautiful in what she’s wearing. No more second-guessing yourself and wondering if what you’ve chosen will be flattering in photos. Each dress in the studio wardrobe has been carefully chosen with that in mind, which leads us to FAQ number two!
What About Fit?
This is a fantastic question and I have a handful of tricks up my sleeve for pieces that don’t quite fit. If your favorite dress is too big, we will use a special clip in the back for a better fit. If your dress of choice is a tad too small, we don’t always zip it all the way! In either of these situations, no one will ever know! That means you get to wear the perfect dress for your session without all the back and forth of the fitting room!
How Do We Style Our Session?
During our wardrobe planning, we will always start with Momma’s dress first. This way we ensure the perfect starting point for our session to build on. From here it’s usually much easier to style the rest of your family!
Do I Have to Use the Studio Wardrobe?
Definitely not! While I provide this service for you, it’s not an option you have to choose. Some clients have an impeccable style all their own and prefer to do their own styling. That’s perfectly ok! Some would rather have help through this process, and I’m more than thrilled to hold their hands through it.
No matter which option you choose, I’m always here for a bit of guidance or encouragement during our time working together. At the end of the day, ensuring you have the best experience possible during your session is always my goal. Guidance with wardrobe is just one of the small ways we make that happen!
