The most important people in my life are my family members. I’ve been photographing families since my son was just 3 months old and today he turns 7 years old. How is that even possible!?! My family is changing and growing so quickly, and the days just seem to be going faster and faster. We have precious years to make memories with our son before he is off to college and starting a family of his own. With that said, it is so important for me to document our family’s story.
My goal is always to make the photography session as stress-free as possible for you. I send a questionnaire to get you know you and your preferences prior to the session. I choose a location that has beautiful views and lighting, that the kids have the freedom to explore. I will guide you every step of the way. I want to capture authentic connection between your family.
Parents often come to the session stressed about whether their little one is going to behave for the session and after the session they often say, “that was so easy!” Prior to photography I worked as an elementary school teacher and I’m a mom of three little ones myself. I know how to keep the session engaging and fun for little ones! I have a few tricks up my sleeve that seem to always work.
I always start with all the most important poses first – family and siblings together, then we just have fun together! Bear hugs, tickles, throwing up in the air, going for a walk, swinging, climbing rocks, and the list goes on and on.
I hope this encourages and reminds you of the value of yearly family photos. They are a treasure that will continue to give to your family for generations to come and I would be honored to capture those memories for you!
