Do have a friend or family member that is expecting a little one? Those first few weeks of bringing home a new baby is remarkable, yet exhausting. So, what can you do as a member of her tribe to help? I’m going suggest 3 top things that I think would be received with open arms!
- A Meal – As a new parent, you have so many new things to figure out, that shopping and preparing food is one of the first things to go to the bottom of the list. A warm meal for a hungry, sleep-deprived new momma, and her family is such a gift! Mealtrain is an excellent resource to get others to join you in bringing delicious meals.
- Offer to run errands for her – With a new little one, it’s hard to get out of the house. Sometimes you need a last-minute baby item or household item, that you might be able to pick up easily while you are out, especially if you will be driving through.
- Take the Older kids to the park – The hardest part of having a newborn is trying to find ways to keep an energetic toddler or older sibling happy and busy. Getting the big brother or sister out to get some fresh air and burn off some energy can be a fantastic gift for a new mother!
There are so many other things we could add to this list! When in doubt, simply ask or offer specific ideas! I know whatever you do will be treasured and appreciated!
